Blocking Robert Rauschenberg

Performance, SFMOMA, December 3, 2010

From the time the door opened at 11am till the time it closed at 5:45pm on December 3, 2010, I stood in front of a work by Robert Rauschenberg in SFMOMA, only inches away from the work, effectively blocking the piece from being viewed for one museum day. This is in part an homage to Rauschenberg's "Erased DeKooning", in part a critique on what constitutes an art experience in an art institution.
